We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join the Parks team. With a background in delivering an "in house" grounds maintenance service you will also be passionate about the environment and will be instrumental in implementing biodiversity improvements across the council's estate.



Based in Barnstaple you will be working across the whole North Devon district which sits within the UNESCO North Devon Biosphere with a coastline which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.



You will be directly responsible for the organisation and management of the frontline Parks team liaising with staff and community groups.



The post is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional out of hours duties.



You are the right candidate for us if you have:
A positive can-do attitude and ability to work well as part of a close-knit team Previous experience of supervising staff in various settings (parks, gardens, open spaces and cemeteries) A good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation An excellent understanding of delivering a grounds maintenance service Able to organise daily work schedules for the Parks Team Experience of burial services and management of cemeteries A passion for the environment and a wish to have a positive impact on biodiversity In good health and an ability to communicate positively with colleagues and members of the public
