Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Part - time Bar Staff member to join our fun and fast paced team and help us out during our busiest times.

*This is a role that will require you to work mostly evenings until late, therefore your own transport/living in Brixham is necessary due to a lack of public transport at this time.

A central part of Brixham's nightlife, The Birdcage loves to give our customers a great time. As a key member of our excellent team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences for our locals and tourists alike. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks related to food and beverage service, ensuring that our customers receive top-notch service in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

You will also be required to work in our sister pub, The Blue Anchor, also located in Brixham, giving you variety in your work to keep things interesting!

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Assist with food preparation as needed, maintaining high levels of food safety and hygiene. Engage with our guests to provide excellent customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly. Upsell menu items effectively to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including equipment and utensils. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth operations during busy periods. Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the bar environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on guest services. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 10.00-13.00 per hour
