The airport cafe has been a popular destination for pilots, enthusiasts, and the local community alike. Our Pathfinder Cafe recruitment continues as we grow our team to meet exceptional demand.

We are looking for a front of house member of staff to work in a part-time position covering an all day shift on Sunday and 2 x five hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday, with the possibility of increasing hours on occasion to help cover holiday or sickness. You will be part of a first-class team, delivering exacting standards and freshly cooked dishes which will shape the future of the dining experience at Blackbushe Airport.

The emphasis is on home cooked, locally sourced, quality food. We will always offer more, and deliver with a lively, memorable, and generous spirit. A fantastic interior ensures a relaxed atmosphere for our visitors to enjoy their meals.

As part of our team, you will be working to maintain the standards for this offering and shape the future of this new cafe experience. The priority will be to guarantee fantastic fresh food with absolute consistency and great service, so word spreads and guests keep coming back.

It is a seven day a week operation, the Cafe will be open 364 days a year.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Front of House Supervisor you will be the face of the cafe, and the wider airport to our customers. Your key duties will include the following:

Supporting the smooth running of the front of house and kitchen as a part of a small team. Providing the highest standards of customer welcome and care when assisting customers at the counter or table Giving advice, guidance and recommendations on products and menu selection to customers to ensure a positive experience and repeat business. Ensuring adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for cafe area. Service of hot and cold beverages, cakes and other food items. Keeping the areas tidy and clean including table clearing, removing dirty plates and waste. This will include assisting in the kitchen with cleaning, and ensuring the bathrooms are kept clean. Responsible for security (product and cash), taking payments. Keeping up to date with special promotions and creating displays.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

You will be enthusiastic and passionate, looking to further your experience in a fast paced and exciting environment. You will have previous experience working in a similar or customer facing role and will be adept at multi-tasking. Your cleanliness and command of hygiene standards will be impeccable. An excellent communicator, you will be able to work independently when required as part of a small daily team. Reliability, punctuality, positive attitude and confidence are necessary for this role.

The Pathfinder Cafe is incredibly busy, especially at weekends and school holidays, so you must have the ability to respond well under pressure

A level 1 food & hygiene qualification is a requirement, but this can easily be completed on-line. Please note that you must have your own car as the Airport is not connected to any public transport links. An interest in aviation would be great too!
