The Canine Assisted Wellbeing Group (CAWG) is a close knit family run business, dedicated to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing through professional canine support. We provide specialist interventions and support to children and adults across workplaces, schools, colleges, universities, mental health hospitals and care homes.

We are currently looking for a

Canine Assisted Intervention Practitioner

in the Camberwell area to join our team to carry out canine assisted interventions in schools. We have opportunities for you to work with your confident and friendly dog , we can assess suitability and put a training plan in place for them to work alongside you.

What's involved in the role?

Your role will be to provide specialist wellbeing support to children/young people in the school environment through the Canine Assisted Learning Emotional Regulation Programme. You will provide 1:1 and group support using canine assisted interventions. Full training will be provided for the role.

Experience required:

Experience of working with young people in a primary and secondary education setting Experience of working with young people's social, emotional and mental health needs. Experience working with children with PMLD Qualifications or experience working with young people and families in relation to social and emotional wellbeing Enthusiastic and self motivated Must be a dog lover and have knowledge of the human animal bond Have a good practical dog handling skills and be able to work with a dog in practice. Have a good understanding / knowledge of mental health in young people Full clean driving licence / access to a car Good communication and organisation skills Good time keeping skills Report writing skills

DBS essential

Initial Interviews will be offered and conducted via teams.
