The Care Worker provides high-quality, person-centred support to individuals who require assistance with daily living. The role involves promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while ensuring the safety and comfort of each service user.
Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Support
Assist service users with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence care.
Support with mobility, including use of wheelchairs, hoists, and other equipment.
Help with eating and drinking, including meal preparation and feeding where required.
Companionship & Emotional Support
Build positive, trusting relationships with service users.
Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional reassurance.
Support service users to participate in hobbies, activities, and community engagement.
Household Tasks
Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
Prepare meals according to dietary requirements.
Help service users maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
Health & Safety
Observe and report any changes in physical or mental health.
Administer or prompt medication in line with training and care plans.
Follow safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable individuals.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily notes and incident reports.
Teamwork & Professional Practice
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
Attend training sessions and supervision to maintain high professional standards.
Uphold confidentiality and respect at all times.
Adhere to organisational policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CQC standards).
