Job Description

Penrice House is a residential care provider in Cornwall and we provide care and support services for the elderly. We are a registered charity, offering care since 1978. We are looking for care assistants to join our team.

Previous experience in this area is helpful, but we will work with you to develop your skills and provide training.

Our role is to ensure our residents are safe, well cared for, and that we are effective and responsive.

Role:



To be responsible with other staff to deliver excellent person-centred care and support for residents in your care, with their health and well-being, respecting the dignity of the individual in every aspect of your care practice.

To assist and enable a resident with their personal care needs according to the resident's care plan; respecting the dignity and choices of each resident in your care.

To assist and enable a residents with their nutritional and hydration needs according to the resident's individual care plan.

To develop person-centred relationships of trust in a safe, non-judgemental, way supporting the residents needs and wishes.

Ensure that the emotional, physical, spiritual equality and diversity needs of residents in your care are met, maintained monitored.

To provide a safe and secure environment for the residents in your care both inside and outside of the home.

Tohave an understanding of your role within the home and to follow Policy and Procedures set along with the Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance.

To record and report to the Senior team or Manager any safeguard or significant issues accurately, immediately and in compliance with the homes reporting policy and procedure.

To be responsible for ensuring that you keep up-to-date, understand and follow residents care plan and risk assessments.

To participate in the development of all aspects of a resident's care plan and the risk assessment process; to do this in-line with Company policies and procedures and statutory requirements in place at the time.

To ensure that you provide person centred detailed handovers to senior team colleagues, recording observations of all resident's welfare needs, any changes or resident's requests for changes in the resident's records.

To ensure all residents risk assessments are continually monitored, and any changes relayed to the senior care formally and as appropriate.

To act with both personal and professional integrity and respect for others at all times, when liaising with the resident's family and external support agencies and when working as part of the professional care and support team.

To ensure that your practice and your work is within the principles laid out in The Health and Safety at Work guidance, Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance, Equality Act 2010 regulations and Health and Social Care workers Code of Conduct.

You are required to undertake statutory and mandatory training and development, along with regular supervision time and meetings to maintain your role within the role.

As part of the homes staffing needs you may be asked to provide support and care in other parts of our home, and flexible to provide such support should the need arise
