Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality control
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
Coordinate food production activities to meet service times and customer expectations
Ensure all food safety regulations are strictly adhered to, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary techniques
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are upheld
Train new staff members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service protocols
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
Experience in food production and restaurant operations
Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Formal culinary qualifications or equivalent experience preferred
