As we expand, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team on a part time - Sunday basis.

Job Overview:

As a Delivery Driver at Turf World Limited, you will be responsible for collecting the turf from different locations and bringing it back to our yard as well as reloading the vehicles ready for Monday morning. The role would suit a part time driver who has a valid and current Class 1 and CPC.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Operations:

Efficient Delivery:

Transport turf, back from different locations such as our field to the yard.

Loading & Unloading:

Load and unload deliveries, ensuring proper handling of products to avoid damage. Help with unloading and setting up products in our yard where required.

Route Planning:

Follow the most efficient delivery routes to minimise travel time and ensure timely deliveries.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Ensure that the delivery vehicle is kept clean, well-maintained. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Transport Manager promptly.

Health & Safety:

Safety Standards:

Comply with all health and safety regulations while on the road and when handling products.

Vehicle Checks:

Conduct regular pre-journey checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe for use.

Product Handling:

Ensure products are handled correctly to avoid damage and injury during loading and unloading.

Key Requirements:

Valid UK driving license

(Category C but CE would be preferred or equivalent preferred).

Previous delivery experience

is essential, especially when transporting the turf from fields to yard, down tight country roads etc.

Knowledge of local areas

Ability to use a Moffett

to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25kg)

Good communication skills

to interact with colleagues in a professional and friendly manner.

Reliability

and punctuality are essential to ensure timely and efficient drops from fields to the yard.

Customer-focused

with a strong emphasis on delivering a positive experience to clients.

A good level of physical fitness

due to the nature of the work (loading and unloading turf)

Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance

and ability to perform routine checks.

Flexibility

to work until the collection and deliveries are completed on a Sunday

A positive, can-do attitude

and a strong work ethic.
