We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team working on Monday and Friday of each week. Days worked are fixed as our existing cleaner will be working Tuesday to Thursday each week. Additional hours may be available to cover Annual leave but this is not a requirement of the role.
Arundel is a home for people with mental health support needs so the successful candidate will need to feel able to interact with our residents, take time to understand their needs around how they choose to live and how they prefer their personal space to be and show effective and empathic communication skills.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the care home, ensuring that all areas are clean, tidy and presentable. You will be required to complete mandatory online training to ensure that you have sufficient knowledge to work in a care environment. You will be paid per module to complete this. You will also need to hold an enhanced online DBS ( or be prepared for Arundel to apply for this for you), provide a full work history and two professional referees.
Responsibilities
Perform cleaning duties; daily cleaning of communal areas including bathrooms and toilets, weekly deep clean of bedrooms (as per weekly rota) and rotational deep clean of communal areas.
Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness.
Change beds as part of a weekly deep clean and more frequently as required.
Clean windows, surfaces, and furniture to ensure a tidy appearance.
Shampoo carpets as needed.
Wash and rehang curtains as needed.
Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
Complete a daily health & safety checklist and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the home manager promptly.
Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and request replenishments as necessary.
Follow health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.
Qualifications
Proficiency in English with the ability to communicate effectively.
Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A friendly and approachable demeanour.
