Part Time Cleaning Operative

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our brand new team at a new school development in East Manchester as a Cleaning Operative, reporting to a Cleaning Supervisor you will be responsible for the cleaning of designated areas within educational premises to ensure that they are kept in a clean and hygienic environment.

Additionally, you will be involved in numerous tasks including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bin, polishing and dusting of the designated areas (which may include toilets and shower areas), and fixture and fittings, using where appropriate, powered equipment.
  • Movement of items of furniture.
  • All duties must be carried out to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act; Acts of Parliament, statutory and company instruments and regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Relieve and assist in other establishments in certain circumstances.
  • Attending and taking all necessary action, statutory and otherwise in the event of accident, fire, loss, theft, lost property, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and complete the necessary return and/or reports.
  • Attending meetings as requested.
  • Duties may vary between term and closure periods.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
  • Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role and have experience as a cleaner with associated Health and Safety training. You will have excellent customer service skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

The role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS Check.

Hours of Work - Monday to Friday 15 hours per week, between 5pm - 8pm Term time only with deep clean over some weeks in the holidays We offer a competitive rate of pay and other benefits.
