Based on-site in Hull, this is a varied support role ideal for someone with a
transport planning or logistics background
who is highly organised and detail-focused. You'll help ensure our systems, documentation, and teams remain compliant and audit-ready -- while playing a key part in staff training coordination and support.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Compliance
Maintain Operator Licence documentation, including vehicle files, PMI schedules, and defect records.
Keep driver records updated (e.g., licence checks, CPC, eyesight checks, incident logs).
Assist with internal checks and ensure documentation is DVSA-compliant.
Health & Safety Administration
Maintain and update site-specific H&S policies, training matrices, and risk assessments.
Record and follow up on accidents, near misses, and safety inspections.
Support the planning and delivery of toolbox talks and safety briefings.
HACCP & Quality Control
Maintain HACCP documentation for food safety and warehouse compliance.
Support warehouse teams with quality control checks and corrective action logs.
Ensure documentation aligns with internal procedures and customer standards.
Customer & Audit Support
Prepare documentation and records for customer, supplier, or regulatory audits.
Respond to customer compliance requests and complete supplier questionnaires.
Maintain an audit readiness calendar and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Staff Training Support
Maintain training records across departments (Transport, H&S, HACCP, etc.).
Organise and schedule training sessions with internal leads or external providers.
Support inductions for new starters by providing training packs and tracking completion.
Other Administrative Duties
General compliance admin including filing, data entry, report preparation, and system updates.
Support wider business improvement initiatives around safety, transport, and quality.
Person Specification
Essential:
Background in transport planning, fleet admin, or logistics operations.
Solid understanding of transport compliance and basic health & safety practices.
Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Confident communicator and capable of coordinating across departments.
Desirable:
Experience with HACCP, quality systems, or food safety.
Involvement in audit preparation or customer compliance.
Familiarity with training coordination or maintaining training records.
Formal qualifications in H&S (IOSH), food safety, or transport compliance (FORS/DGSA awareness).
