Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring a smooth operation at the counter. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. Responsibilities

Serve customers promptly and courteously at the counter, taking orders accurately. Assist with food preparation, ensuring quality standards are maintained. Handle cash transactions and operate the till efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including food displays and utensils. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service. Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise wait times. Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when required. Restock supplies as needed to ensure the counter remains fully stocked throughout shifts.

Skills

Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices. Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Previous experience in serving or working behind a counter is advantageous. Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods. Kitchen or culinary experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively and ensure smooth operations. Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer experience and sales performance. Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
