Job Summary:

A Pizza Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering food and related products to our customers' homes or businesses. This role is crucial as you are the face of our business, ensuring excellent customer service and product quality are maintained from the store to the customer's door. When not on the road, you will assist the in-store team with various tasks, helping to serve customers, keep the kitchen tidy, and prepare boxes for the upcoming orders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Safe and Timely Delivery:

Pick up orders, check orders are complete before leaving the store, navigate delivery routes efficiently, and deliver food items (pizzas, sides, drinks) to customers in a timely manner, ensuring they arrive hot and fresh.

Customer Service:

Provide exceptional customer service, projecting a positive and friendly image to every customer. This includes greeting customers and confirming order accuracy.

Cash Handling & Transactions:

Accurately process payments from customers and provide correct change. A 'float' wil be provided to ensure you have plenty change available, then to accurately cash-out your total at the end of shift.

Driving & Vehicle Safety:

Drive safely and courteously at all times, strictly obeying all traffic laws and road safety standards.

In-Store Support:

When deliveries are slow, assist the in-store team with general duties, which may include: Taking customer orders over the phone or in person. Folding pizza boxes. Assisting with basic food preparation tasks. Stocking ingredients and supplies. General cleaning and tidying of the store and equipment.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle (personal or company-provided) and promptly report any maintenance issues to management.

Work Pattern:



This position requires flexibility and includes working evenings, weekends, and on public holidays, as these are our busiest periods. Hours will be scheduled within a weekly rotating shift system (rota) to ensure fair coverage. We aim to offer reasonable flexibility within the rota, and specific shift requirements will be discussed and agreed upon with management. Any required time off from normal shifts must be discussed a minimum of 3 weeks before date, to ensure a colleague can cover the available time off. Any day off due to illness must be reported by 10am that morning to give management time to find a replacement.

Requirements and Qualifications:



Driving Licence: Drivers must be over 21 years of age, as we provide the vehicles used, and the insurance provided. You must have 0 points on licence, which will be checked before employment starts.

Vehicle:

When your shift starts you MUST overlook the vehicle for faults, check oil, water and coolant levels and adjust if required, check lights and tyres. Ensure the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy order, no smoking is permitted in food delivery vehicles. At the end of shift the car should be clean and in good order, any faults reported to management.

Language:

A

good level of proficiency in the English language

is required to effectively communicate with customers, take clear orders, and understand delivery instructions.

Local Knowledge:

Excellent knowledge of the local area and the ability to read maps or use GPS effectively for quick and efficient routing.

Customer Focus:

A friendly, positive, and service-oriented attitude.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to handle physical demands, including walking, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting and carrying stock, to the shop.

Reliability:

Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently, help and problem solve with the shop team.
