Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a receptionist to join our well established dental practice, where we provide NHS and Private treatment options in a friendly working environment. The role on offer is dental receptionist but we would also consider a qualified dental nurse and the pay would be more if that was the case.

Our ideal candidate would be friendly, enthusiastic and highly motivated, with good communication skills and professional attitude. The applicant should be keen to work in a fast paced environment, while at the same time remaining calm and reassuring.

Experience of working in a dental practice would be beneficial, but this is not essential as training can be given.

The hours for this position are Wednesdays 8.30 - 5.30 and Thursdays 8.30 - 1.15. There will also be the opportunity to do additional hours to cover staff holidays. Hourly rate is based on current NMW for your age.

The role involves:

Answer the telephone in a prescribed manner. Welcome all patients arriving at the practice. Ensure the appointment system is efficient and accurate. Collect and record patient payments. Liase with dental laboratories and other organisations as required. Send out communications to patients. Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities. Keep the office and reception area clean and tidy. Ensure the welfare of patients. Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance and all other practice policies. Ensure records are accurately maintained. Liase with surgery staff to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records. Undergo training as required for medical emergencies and basic life support.
