Based at the
Distillery Shop & Tasting Rooms
in the historic Old Royal Naval College, we offer immersive guest experiences: from guided tastings to hands-on gin-making sessions. We also operate a lively cocktail bar and pop-up venues across events and festivals..
Duties and responsibilities:
Shop Management
Handle any customer queries and complaints, escalate as necessary.
Perform the check-in process for events, contact guests arriving late and validate tickets.
Coordinate with tour guides to ensure they have all the information about the groups of guests (e.g. allergies, special requests, birthdays, etc.)
Answer email and phone request to book customers who have a voucher into our experiences
Open and close the shop including closing the till, locking and alarming the premises
Provide supervision to the distillery operations assistant, delegate tasks as appropriate and assist in resolving any issues.
Optionally deliver experiences to guests (as guide)
Customer Experience & Sales
Share the story of our spirits: how they're made, what botanicals are used, why they are special and serving recommendations.
Mix and serve cocktails and tasters during shop hours and experiences
Offer thoughtful recommendations and guide customers through purchases
Handle card payments and operate till
Maintain a tidy, clean and inviting retail space
Track stock levels and assist in inventory checks
Regularly contact trade customers for recurring sales and maintaining relationship
Distillery Experiences Support
Set up tables, drinks, and glassware for tasting sessions, cocktail masterclasses, and our interactive Gin Lab
Welcome guests and support guides during experience sessions
Clean and reset the space between events
Ensure all glassware is promptly and hygienically cleaned
Operations & Logistics
Assist with bottling, labelling, sealing, and packing gin and rum
Process online orders for delivery (pick, pack, post)
Organise stock and materials in the stock room
Keep the shop sparkling and products attractively displayed
Essential criteria:
Fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills
Confident, friendly, and customer-focused
Presentable, energetic, and enthusiastic about craft spirits
Sales savvy with a hands-on, proactive attitude
Available to work most Fridays and some weekends
Be highly dependable, punctual and responsible
Willing to learn all about craft gin making and cocktail making
Experience working on retail or hospitality is a plus
Applicants must be physically fit and willing to carry or push items such as boxes, cases, and mobile trolleys as part of daily operations. This role also requires the ability to safely navigate stairways while handling stock and event equipment.

Work Schedule:
Part time: 16h / week. Rota can change depending on events. Example week hours are: Wednesday: 13:00 - 17:00, Saturday: 12:00 - 20:00, Sunday: 13:00 - 17:00
