We are looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. This role will involve managing accounts payable, maintaining accurate financial records whilst ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Proficiency in Sage accounting software is essential for this role. The Bookkeeper will report directly into the Managing Director, and they will be expected to play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations within the business.
Principal Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data as needed.
Utilise Sage accounting software alongside our internal software Orderwise to streamline processes.
To support key functions within the department including banking and treasury, sales ledger, purchase ledger, sales ledger, budget preparation, analysis and maintenance.
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in budget preparation.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Representing Finance by participating and contributing in meetings which will enable the needs of operational teams and customers.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong numerical proficiency and analytical skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
A relevant qualification in accounting or finance is advantageous but not essential.
