Roles and Responsibilities of a Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant:
Client Requirement Analysis
Business Process Analysis:
Work closely with the client to understand their business processes, workflows, and pain points. Gather detailed requirements to ensure the Business Central implementation addresses all business needs.
Solution Design:
Propose the best solution architecture within the Business Central framework, aligning it with the client's business objectives and requirements.
System Configuration and Customisation
Module Configuration:
Configure Dynamics 365 Business Central modules to meet the client's specific business processes, ensuring that each module operates correctly and efficiently.
Customisation:
Identify areas where Business Central's out-of-the-box functionality may not fully meet the client's needs and develop customisations as required, including custom fields, workflows, and reports.
Integration:
Work on integrating Business Central with other third-party applications or legacy systems used by the client, ensuring seamless data flow across platforms.
Data Migration
Data Mapping:
Map the client's existing data from legacy systems to the appropriate fields and modules in Business Central.
Data Import:
Execute the migration of data into the Business Central system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the process.
Data Validation:
Validate the migrated data to ensure that it meets the required standards and that there are no discrepancies or errors.
Testing and Quality Assurance
System Testing:
Conduct thorough testing of the configured and customized Business Central system, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
Issue Resolution:
Identify and troubleshoot issues during the testing phase, ensuring that any bugs or issues are resolved promptly.
Training and Support
User Training:
Provide comprehensive training to the client's end-users, ensuring they are comfortable using Business Central and can perform their tasks efficiently.
Training Materials:
Develop and deliver training materials, including user manuals, video tutorials, and help guides, to support end-user education.
Post-Go-Live Support:
Offer support to the client after the system goes live, addressing any issues or questions that arise during the initial usage phase.
Client Relationship Management
Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders at the client organisation, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and changes.
Expectation Management:
Set and manage expectations around project timelines, deliverables, and outcomes, ensuring that the client is fully informed at all stages.
Feedback Incorporation:
Gather feedback from the client throughout the implementation process and make necessary adjustments.
Documentation
Project Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation for the implementation process, including configuration settings, customization code, and integration details.
User Documentation:
Develop user documentation to help the client's staff understand how to use Business Central effectively.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare technical documentation for any custom developments or integrations, ensuring that future maintenance can be done efficiently.
