We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that meal preparation runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards. Support chefs and cooks in various kitchen tasks, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in catering events as required, assisting with food setup and service.

Skills

Experience in meal preparation or a culinary background is preferred but not essential. Strong understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to take initiative when necessary. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and cleanliness. A willingness to learn new cooking techniques and expand culinary knowledge. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.58-12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
