We are seeking an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients. Support chefs and cooks in executing menu items efficiently and effectively. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces. Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, including proper storage of ingredients and monitoring of expiration dates. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with setup and service. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or catering setting is preferred but not essential. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices are advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required. A passion for food preparation and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
