Summary

We are seeking a part time Kitchen Assistant to join our team at The Carriers Arms Public House. In this role, you will support our kitchen staff in meal preparation and food safety practices, ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.

Hours will be discussed at the interview but range from Wednesday-Sunday. Additional hours would be available to cover other staff's absences from time to time.

The position is part time, approximately 20-30 hours per week with scope to increase if necessary, plus additional holiday cover.

As we are a country pub we request ONLY candidates with their own transport apply as the pub is not accessible by public transport on a regular basis.

Salary depends on experience

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients according to recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure high standards of hygiene. Support chefs during busy service periods by preparing dishes as needed. Help with inventory management and stock rotation. Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation. Willingness to learn and take direction from chefs.
