Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team every Fri, Sat & Sun at Threeways Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a kitchen environment, a good understanding of food hygiene, and a willingness to work as part of a team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the direction of the Chef Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in line with hygiene regulations Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients as required Clean kitchen equipment and utensils, and ensure proper storage of items Assist with serving meals and clearing down after service Receive and store deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality Follow all food safety and health and safety procedures Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care teams to ensure residents receive a high standard of service

Skills

Previous experience working in a kitchen or catering environment is preferred Basic understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a busy kitchen Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work well as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to learn Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable

Location: Threeways Nursing Home in Seaford

Schedule: Fri, Sat & Sun 2:30pm-7pm (13.5 hours per week)

Pay Rate: 10.40 - 12.30 (Additional 0.50ph weekend enhancement)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 10.40-12.30 per hour

Expected hours: 13.5 per week
