The Parlour Restaurant at Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre is seeking a

dependable and hardworking Kitchen Porter

to join our dedicated kitchen team. This part-time role offers daytime hours in a professional and welcoming environment, with no late evening shifts.

About the Role:

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play an essential role in maintaining the smooth running of our kitchen operations. You will ensure cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards are consistently upheld, supporting the chefs and front-of-house team in delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and cutlery Operate dishwashing machinery safely and efficiently Keep kitchen areas, floors, and surfaces clean and sanitised throughout service Assist with basic food preparation when required Ensure waste is disposed of safely and in accordance with food safety regulations Receive and unpack deliveries, checking for quality and storing items appropriately Support the kitchen team by keeping prep and service areas organised Report any equipment issues or hazards promptly Follow health & safety and food hygiene policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the team Good communication and time management skills Experience in a similar role is preferred, though not essential - full training will be provided
