Job Description

Are you someone with skills in community-based conservation, biodiversity, developing skills in nature who is interested in supporting people, families and communities to conserve, restore and protect green and blue spaces?


Groundwork Wales is seeking a part time project officer (30 hours over 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday).





The role is fixed term until the end of February 2026.

Position: Part Time Project Officer




Working Hours: 30 hours to be worked over 4 days (Monday - Thursday)




Location: Pontllanfraith, Blackwood, with travel across the region and visits to community hubs.




Salary Range: 24,000 to 26,000 per annum pro rata




Contract Tenure: Fixed Term (until February 2026)




Closing Date: 12th September 2025 at Midday

Key Responsibilities:


Support the development and delivery of community nature-based programmes

Maintain effective relationships with partner organisations

Identify and recruit groups, individuals, and partners to participate in programme activities

Supervise participants to develop environmental conservation and interpersonal skills

Deliver accredited courses and provide 1:1 mentoring sessions

Record progress towards targets and assist with report preparation for funding bodies and marketing

Assist with identifying and applying for additional funding opportunities


Requirements:


A full current driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Familiarity with community work practices and related legislation

Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults

Adherence to GDPR regulations regarding personal information

Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all involved in Groundwork Wales' work
