This role is essential in providing nurturing theraputic care to our children, ensuring out managers feel supported in delivering the highest standard of care and remain compliant in line with Ofsted regulations in our homes. Job Purpose
To assist in the organisation's day-to-day and strategic leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that nurture positive outcomes for children and young people in care.
To support home and registered managers in service delivery in line with legislation, standards, and the organisation's ethos.
To oversee the management of referrals and placements, ensuring a coordinated approach to services.
Role and Responsibilities
Monitor Care Quality: Oversee care quality and individual care planning in designated homes.
Report on Provisions: Regularly report to the Managing Director to ensure each provision meets its purpose and aligns with the organisation's ethos.
Therapeutic Practices: Implement and monitor systems supporting therapeutic practices.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, care standards, and OFSTED requirements.
OFSTED Preparation: Prepare provisions for inspections, ensuring managers are aware and confident with the SCIFF.
Mentorship: Mentor and supervise home/registered managers, encouraging professional development.
Financial Management: Ensure budgets align with regulations, OFSTED requirements, and contracts.
Safeguarding: Act as the safeguarding lead, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and providing support to managers.
Professional Practice: Promote high standards of practice and professional development among managers.
Administration Systems: Ensure current, accurate administration systems compliant with GDPR 2018.
Workplace Safety: Maintain a healthy and safe work environment, incorporating the organisation's ethos into staff practices.
Staffing Procedures: Oversee recruitment, induction, and grievance procedures in compliance with laws and policies.
Organisational Development: Participate in growth and service development projects.
Relationship Building: Maintain positive relationships with authorities and commissioners.
Focus on children's Needs: Ensure managers prioritise communication and therapeutic parenting.
Professional Development: Engage in meetings and training for self-improvement.
On-call Support: Provide on-call support to managers.
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Serve as the trained DSL for the Homes that are assigned to you as RI.
