Before you read all of this, or bring in a CV, please be aware that this is for a

Part Time

position. Now I know it says this in the title, and is mentioned several times, but we've had a (large) number of people applying who want a full time position, even if they can't do the job and have no experience in this field whatsoever, that is not what is offered here.

We are called BigaByte, a "Byte" is a measure of computer memory, it does not mean we are a cafe, so the 30+ people who have applied saying how they would love to work in food retail, probably not for you either.

A couple of things to be aware of:

If you post a reply with "CV will be sent on request", you won't get one, quite how we are meant to decide if you are the person we need from your name and email, not entirely sure. If you live some distance away (including the applicants we have had from Italy & Greece) then please state when you will be moving to this area, or we will just assume you are filling your quota of applications you have to make, and ignore it. I know a lot of this sounds fierce, but arranging interview times and finding 80% can't even be bothered to show up means that we have had to change how we do it.
Okay, on to the

Part Time

position (see I said I'd use it a lot)

We are looking for sales assistants to work/train in our Birkenhead Town Centre, Computer & Mobile Phone shop.

You will be dealing with customers on a daily basis and will be taught computer repairs, software installations, mobile phone repairs, sales and customer service (although not all in the same week).

We are quite happy to teach you, and we don't expect you to know everything in the first week, we'd prefer you to learn slowly and correctly.

An interest in technology would be useful (or you will become very bored very quickly).

The business also sells CCTV, E-Cigs and various Gadgets which you would be expected to learn about.

No previous experience required, if you're enthusiastic we can teach you.

Legible handwriting is essential (or the ability to write in Block Capitals so that we can read it)

This will begin at just above minimum wage with a wage review every 6 months depending on how you have progressed, (basically you will be paid more if you learn how to do the job).

The shop is open 7 days a week and your hours WILL include weekends on a rota basis.

Please bring your CV's into the shop, we will try and conduct initial interviews at that time although we made need to use FaceTime, WhatsApp or Teams.

Full time positions may be available later, either here or at our other shops, wages for these posts exceed the "Living Wage".

COVID-19 considerations:
In response to the Covid 19 outbreak we have installed a solid glass barrier between staff & customers, hand gels, sanitisers and gloves are available plus UV disinfection devices for any phones you may have to touch.
