We are seeking an enthusiastic Sales Assistant to work in a traditional hardware store, in the kitchen and housewares department as part of a dedicated team of knowledgeable staff. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, assisting with sales transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position requires strong communication skills
Responsibilities
Provide product information and recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction
Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
Maintain an organised and visually appealing sales floor
Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting stock checks and pricing
Experience
Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential as full training will be given
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers positively
Basic numeracy skills for handling cash transactions and processing sales
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure
