We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Senco (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join our educational team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate guidance and resources to thrive in their learning environment. This position requires a compassionate individual with a strong background in education, behaviour management, and tutoring.
Duties
Assess and identify the special educational needs of children within the setting.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's requirements.
Provide support in various subjects including Maths, Physical Education, and other areas as needed.
Conduct tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives and enhance academic skills.
Utilise applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviour management strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals such as speech therapists to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of children, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
Engage in regular communication with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
Strong skills in proofreading and creating educational materials.
Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis principles is highly desirable.
Experience in tutoring or providing educational support in subjects such as Maths or Physical Education.
Familiarity with speech therapy techniques is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults alike.
