Post No. HP1031.5 - Partnership Officer (Participation)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Partnership Officer to support the Council and our partners in developing the participation and engagement programme and wider policy agenda for Newport.
Working in the Council's Policy, Partnership and Involvement Team you will lead on giving local people a voice and supporting them to get involved in decision making through the development of engagement, participation and consultation processes.
As part of our team, you will identify and implement good practice in children and young people's participation for the Council, its partners and the third sector. You will support innovative work like participatory budgeting programmes. You will also provide specific support to Newport Youth Council and the 50+ Forum. Working with colleagues you will advise on meeting relevant legal duties such as . the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015 and requirements such as the National Participation Standards and the National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales.
Candidates will be expected to have an understanding of working with citizens and young people in a participative and empowering way. They will have experience of working with data and information sources, preparing consultations and reports. They will also have experience of partnership working and will have been involved in organising events.
This position is offered as a 12 month fixed-term contract.
