Part-time Accountant
Type: Part-time, C20 hours per week, flexible
Location: Sawston, Cambridge (office-based)
Salary: In the region of 35k pro rata, depending on experience
We're hiring a part-time Accountant at our Sawston office, and we can be really flexible with your hours to work around your other commitments, such as school drop off.
At PAXT, we grow international markets on behalf of some of the world's leading professional audio brands. We are looking for a friendly and highly organised Accountant to help with the finance function within our growing business.
Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements
• Support month-end preparation and close
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Assist with year-end audits
• Allocating customers' money and Monitoring customers accounts
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly VAT returns
• Reconciling bank accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy
• Support with Monthly payroll
• Preparing supplier payment runs
• Assisting with processing and analysing company credit card statements
• Preparing and posting journals
• Supporting with monitoring cash flow
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Experience, attributes, and skills

• Capable of taking accounts to trial balance
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, with attention to detail
• A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA,CIMA) - full or part qualified
• Accuracy: Maintaining the integrity of financial records is essential
• Organisational skills: Keeping records organised and efficient
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accountancy packages (we use Dynamics 365 Business Central, which we can train you to use)
• Communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
• Analytical skills: The ability to identify and analyse financial data
• Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
