We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented

Bookkeeper/Management Accountant

to support two growing businesses in the automotive sector:

Practical Car & Van Rental (City Rentals Luton Ltd)

- daily/weekly rental business.

Vehicle Leasing

- vehicle leasing company focusing on B2B long-term contracts.
This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for someone who enjoys providing clear financial reporting and helping business owners track cashflow and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping across two Ltd companies (rental & leasing). Record and reconcile all income & expenses monthly. Track per-vehicle profitability (rental + leasing fleets). Prepare quarterly VAT return information (to pass to existing accountant). Produce clear monthly management reports: Profit & Loss Cashflow statement Balance Sheet Per-van profitability summary Support with fleet-related accounting (insurance, depreciation, finance/leasing schedules). Liaise with business owner and existing accountant to provide clarity on cashflow and growth decisions.

Requirements:

Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience. Strong knowledge of VAT and depreciation (fleet or motor trade experience preferred). Familiar with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar software. Ability to present data in a clear, simple way (dashboards or spreadsheets). Reliable, organised, and confidential.

Nice to Have:

Experience in vehicle rental, leasing, or transport accounting. Understanding of Islamic finance (non-interest structures).

Job Type:

Part-time / Freelance (10-20 hours per month). Hybrid - remote work with occasional visits to Luton.

Pay:

15 - 20/hour (approx. 200-400 per month depending on hours and experience).
