Job Description

We are looking for a Part-Time Branch Receptionist to provide cover across our branches 2 days per week. This is a permanent position. Experience working as a receptionist or in an office required, however industry specific training will be provided.

Please note: This role does involve interactions with deceased individuals.

Hours:

2 days per week, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm, with 30-minute lunch break.

One fixed working day (Friday) and the other day to be another weekday which will vary week to week.

You will be expected to cover any of our 9 branches.

What does the role involve?



As a Part-Time Branch Receptionist you will cover the Company's branches on behalf of staff who are absent from the branch (i.e. annual leave or a non-working day). You will play a holding role for the branch, handling various calls and enquires. You will uphold the company's reputation by acting in a professional manner to customers and by keeping the branch in a presentable manner.

Role responsibilities:



You will handle telephone calls, transferring calls through to the required staff member and will take messages when it is not possible to transfer the calls. You will take 'first call' details for new funerals ensuring the details are passed on to a Funeral Director. You will monitor the branch email inbox forwarding emails to the correct members of staff. You will greet clients who enter the premises and will handle their enquiry, usually directing this to a specific member of staff. You will leave accurate hand-over notes for other staff members. You will ensure the branch is well maintained and clean. You will attend to and book chapel visits. You will take payments through various methods including virtual terminal payments. You will record any incoming items to the premises including clothing and jewellery. You will record the collection of ashes from the premises. You may be asked to complete general administrative tasks such as filing and logging post. You will report to the Office Manager.
