Part Time Deputy Manager – Nhs Dental Practice

Job Description

Are you an experienced and motivated dental professional looking for a leadership role with flexibility? We are seeking an experienced part-time Receptionist/Deputy Manager to support our busy NHS Dental Practice, working alongside our existing management team to ensure smooth daily running of the practice and excellent patient care.

About the Role:



As a Deputy Manager, you will work alongside our current long term full-time Deputy Manager where together you will oversee the overall management of the practice, ensuring compliance with NHS regulations, CQC standards and best practice guidelines. The desired candidate will have proven experience in managing all areas of a busy dental practice and the ability to effectively manage a team of dental professionals.

Some of shared duties will include:



- Responsibility for the smooth daily running of the practice

- Recruiting and training new staff including dental nurses, receptionists, dentists and hygienists

- Supporting the team with all HR tasks, including rota management, appraisals, practice meetings, and helping with reception cover as needed

- Managing inventory - ensuring dental materials and other products are ordered on time and the right quantity is maintained in storage

- Managing the staff payroll as well as dentists/hygiene payroll

- Management of administration duties within the practice to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible and that patients leave with a very positive impression of the practice

- Meeting and greeting patients in a friendly manner and discussing any issues or concerns that they may have; dealing appropriately with any issues or feedback/complaints that may arise

- Planning and scheduling of appointments, implementation of treatment plans and keeping patient records up to date

- Ensuring good communication is maintained between dental professionals, support staff and patients

- Ensuring all legal and health and safety requirements are up to date and adhered to, including CQC compliance, audits and practice policies

Required Skills & Experience:



- At least 1 year managerial experience of a dental practice

- Proven ability to manage a team of dental professionals and support staff

- Thorough knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance

- Knowledge and experience in recruiting dental professionals and support staff

- Good IT skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs and dental software (iSmile)

- Attention to Detail - essential when working in a busy dental practice where little details make the difference

- Highly Organised - essential for the effective management of a busy dental practice

- Problem Solving - ability to resolve conflict and deal with all problems that may arise in the practice in a calm and professional manner

- Decision Making - ability to expect the unexpected and to be able to act accordingly making the correct decisions
