We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, particularly within hotels or restaurants.
Duties
Assist with food preparation by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies, ensuring that all items are correctly labelled and stored in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Participate in regular cleaning schedules to ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained throughout the kitchen.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential.
A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation is beneficial.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a willingness to help others.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.
