We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS2 Teaching Assistant/HLTA to support educators in providing an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering the development of KS2 children,particularly those with additional needs. This role involves working closely with teachers to facilitate learning activities, assist students with their educational tasks, and promote a positive classroom atmosphere.
Duties
Assist teachers in planning and delivering educational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
Support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, in their daily learning and social interactions.
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to reinforce lessons and enhance understanding.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs.
Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Collaborate with educators and other professionals to develop strategies that promote student success.
Prepare classroom materials and resources as needed for lessons and activities.
Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
Skills
Experience working with KS2 children and young people in an educational setting is essential.
Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting students with disabilities.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to mentor and motivate students, fostering their confidence and independence.
Familiarity with tutoring techniques that cater to various learning styles.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help all students succeed academically and socially.

This role will be part-time, around 20 working hours per week (days to be agreed):
