We are a small but growing law firm based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, known for delivering high-quality legal services with a personal touch. As our practice expands, we are looking for an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations.
Job Summary
This role offers flexibility in working hours and involves working closely with the Director on an ad hoc basis, alongside supporting our existing outsourced bookkeeper. It is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong legal sector experience and a deep understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Responsibilities
Monitoring the accounts inbox
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Complete Supplier forms
Chase unpaid invoices and manage credit control
Communicating outstanding amounts due to the managing director
Send out client invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Process payments to suppliers and maintain financial records
Maintain accurate bookkeeping using Xero and LEAP
Generate and interpret financial reports for internal use
Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
Liaise with the outsourced bookkeeper to ensure consistency
The role will expand to managing costs in an accounts assistant role.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a law firm is essential
Accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, or similar) is required
Proficiency in Xero and LEAP software
In-depth knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
Highly organised, discreet, and reliable
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 16.00-18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 18 per week
