Applications are invited for a part time secretary/assistant for an immediate start, if possible, to fill a position working for an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client Dept in the Port Talbot area.
You must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to deal with members of the public and professionals in a calm and constructive manner. A knowledge and experience of working in a legal support role is essential.
The position is office based and you will be required to work Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9am - 5pm (with an hour for lunch, unpaid). However, you may be required to work outside of these hours therefore flexibility and your own transport is also essential.
Remuneration will be dependent on experience. A 3 month probationary period will be completed after which the position will be reviewed.

Main duties include:
Providing full support to the fee earner from file opening to file closure
Ensuring the firm's compliance processes and procedures are strictly adhered to
Producing correspondence and other documentation via the firm's case management system
Preparation of contract paperwork and online applications
Maintenance of comprehensive and accurate client admin files.
Responding to enquiries on behalf of the fee earner.
Assistance in general team administration including taking calls and directing accordingly
Monitor the fee earner's inbox and respond to emails as necessary
Management of fee earner diary
Schedule appointments and meetings
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Any other reasonable tasks
Essential skills and experience:
Experience working as support/assistant in a legal environment is essential.
Desired skills and experience:
Strong and efficient secretarial and admin skills
High level of attention to detail
Fast, accurate typing ability
Experience of using case management systems and external online systems is essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Very well organised
Friendly & professional attitude
IT literate - Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook / Case Management Systems
Experience of working in a legal environment of at least 1 year is essential
