Le Club Francais & El Club Espanol provides language classes and clubs for children as a franchise of LCF Clubs Limited. LCF have been operating in the UK since 1985 and prioritise fun learning as a way of speeding up the acquisition process for children. In other words we make learning = fun! Our stimulating courses allow children to learn with a variety of fun songs, games, stories and interactive activities, and LCF also offers an in-school programme to provide tuition for children in the curriculum.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing French-speaking
Club leader for our FUN Club Francais lunchtime club
in the Up Holland, Orell, and Appley Bridge, Wigan area.
We are hoping to offer 1 x half hour lunchtime club on two days, specifically for KS1 children. The clubs currently take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12.30-1.00 but the days may be changeable.
There may be potential for other work in the area for interested parties, including in Euxton, Chorley.
We are also separately looking for Spanish club leaders to run lunchtime and/or after school clubs in the
Crawford Village and Standish
area, but this is not part of the same job necessarily, however it is possible you may wish to also do this club and you can be considered with the same application).
For the lunchtime clubs, you'd need to be available between 12 and 1.15pm depending on the school.
You'll be paid in relation to the teaching time but it's important to understand the responsibility required of being on time and caring for the children appropriately.
Teachers must ideally have a car or own transport. Some schools may be within reach of public transport but not always.
The role is to start in September and you'll be taking over from an existing club leader.
The role might suit someone who already has other work on a couple of days, or at weekend, that this job could fit around, it it NOT full time, please be aware.
We require a suitable person who has some experience with younger children and/or teaching children in Primary School, or perhaps other school settings or similar.
You MUST:-
be fluent or near fluent in French (Being fluent in Spanish too is a bonus)
be available to work at the above specified times
be enthusiastic about working with children.
be living near the Wigan area, or willing to travel on a long-term basis (ideally should have a car or willing to use public transport)
be able to commit to the long term position of club leader for this clubs
be willing to work as a self-employed tutor
Please be aware this is not a full-time position, only
part-time
, however there may be future opportunities to expand the number of sessions you do. Some work could be moved to suit the right person and fit on certain days, or we could offer you part of the role and the rest to another candidate. You must be comfortable (and enthusiastic about) working with children from 4-11. It is preferred that the applicant has some teaching experience here, and it would be valuable to have experience working with children from 4-11 in a school or childcare setting.
Some training will be given, but to be successful, it is important that you have a good understanding of and fluency communicating in English. You will also need to be proficient in reading in the target language to be able to use our course.
As this is an urgent position we cannot accept applicants who are NOT already living in the local area, and we will be not be accepting any applicants who do not demonstrate that they live in the North West of England on their CV or covering letter.

Salary is dependent on the type of work - club/in-school and the number of children and length of session, and can range from 18-35+ per hourly session, with adjusted rates for half-hourly classes and rising with experience gained. You will receive a fee based on a the numbers of children you are teaching, rewarding you for growing your group.
Our ideal candidates are either parents who need an extra income, students (who have consistent availability), teachers who have taken a break from teaching, or are retired, but wish to teach part time, but we welcome any application from people of all walks of life.
