Role Overview:

I am looking for a creative and proactive Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support my practice's growth through social media, email marketing, press outreach, and website updates. This is a part-time freelance role, starting at 4 hours per week (20 per hour), with opportunity to increase hours and responsibilities as the practice grows. The position offers flexible working arrangements, split between the studio and working from home. Ideal for someone with a strong sense of visual storytelling, copywriting skills, and experience in art, design, or lifestyle sectors.

About Alma Sophia:

You'll be working directly with me, Alma - a jewellery designer and goldsmith based in London. Since 2017, I have been creating jewellery from my studio at Cockpit in Bloomsbury. I work mainly with gold and silver, incorporating both precious and semi-precious stones to craft pieces that are sculptural and delicate.
Jewellery has always been my passion - it's truly my dream job. I love making unique pieces, playing with shapes and working out designs at my jewellery bench.

Key Responsibilities:



Social Media



Create engaging and visually consistent content across social platforms. Set up and manage a paid Instagram campaign; monitor performance and engagement metrics. Plan and design monthly Mailchimp newsletters with clear themes and calls to action.

Email & Outreach



Research and contact potential stockists; maintain and follow up on leads. Build and nurture relationships with partners and collaborators via email outreach.

Press & PR



Draft and distribute press releases and story pitches for new work or launches. Write engaging bios and press materials tailored to different media outlets.

Website & Content



Update product pages with engaging and informative copy. Ensure all product listings include key details for an optimal visitor experience. Refresh and refine general website text for tone, clarity, and brand alignment. Explore the creation of a journal or news page to share stories, updates, and inspiration.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:



Experience in digital marketing, copywriting, or communications. Proficient in Instagram, Mailchimp, and basic website editing (e.g. Squarespace, Shopify). Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for brand voice and detail. Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience:



Interest in art, design, or creative industries. SEO and/or Google Diagnostics knowledge Existing contacts or relationships within the press, retail, or creative/lifestyle media sectors. Experience pitching to journalists, editors, and influencers -- ideally within jewellery, craft, design, or fashion. Familiarity with PR opportunities, press platforms, and relevant industry networks. Knowledge of stockists, galleries, or concept stores in the U.S. and/or Europe.
