Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, assisting with sales processes, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. This position requires a proactive individual who can work effectively and demonstrate strong communication skills and a passion for retail. The ideal candidate will be available to work at short notice, primarily on alternate Saturdays with availability for holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries to enhance their shopping experience. Provide detailed product knowledge to customers, helping them make informed purchasing decisions. Assist in maintaining the visual merchandising standards of the store, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked. Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive work environment. Participate in inventory management tasks, including stock replenishment and organization of merchandise. Clean and maintain the shop environment to ensure a welcoming atmosphere. Perform filing and organizational tasks as needed. Handle any additional duties as required to support the daily operations of the shop.

Qualifications

Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a genuine interest in helping others. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a retail setting. Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and cash management. A team player who is also self-motivated and able to work independently when required.
