Part of Cumbria Education Trust, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School is seeking to appoint a permanent, part-time Teacher of Drama.
Hours of work
: 0.6 FTE- based on a two-week timetable comprising of 27 hrs teaching plus 3PPA per fortnight
We are seeking an outstanding, creative and inspirational Teacher of Drama to join our team from January 2026. For the right candidate, we may be able to negotiate an earlier start date during the Autumn Term. Applicants are encouraged to note on their application their desired start date.
The candidate should be an excellent classroom practitioner, reflective in their teaching practice and focused on getting the best from every student across all key stages of the secondary curriculum.
The successful candidate will:
Possess a relevant teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE, Cert Ed, Bed)
Be an excellent communicator
Ensure high standards of teaching across the curriculum and have a commitment to challenging learners to achieve well
Up-to date knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and assessment, reporting and recording processes relating to Drama
Be a passionate, caring and inspirational leader and teacher
Be self-motivated and reliable
Be enthusiastic about current research on thinking skills and building learning power.
