Peterborough Limited are recruiting a part time Passenger Transport Driver to work as part of their team based in Peterborough. This is a part time, term time only, permanent opportunity. The main purpose of this role is to maintain a safe environment for pupils to access our transport services. Where required, working with a passenger assistant to provide a high-quality school transport service throughout the designated area, providing the service user with a positive experience of our transport services and reflecting the values of Aragon Direct Services.

Hours of work - Monday to Friday, Term Time Only. 07.15 - 09.15 and 14.30 - 16.30 (split shift).

This is a rewarding role working with a variety of students. Assisting our service users daily to help promote independence.

What does the role involve?

To collect and deliver allocated clients from designated pick-up points within the city to their destination, always ensuring that they are safe and comfortable, and that when travelling all occupants of the vehicle are securely strapped in position using the full range of restraining systems provided. Report any concerns over behavioural, physical, mental or other health needs of the clients to the school and/or line manager. Completing accident and incident forms where required. Deliver the clients to the safe custody of their designated drop off point. Complete regular bus pass checks on our coach services and report any issues. To undertake compulsory daily vehicle checks before use and at the end of each day (brakes, oil, water, tyres, cleanliness and any vehicle damage). To keep tidy, whilst in possession, the vehicle (inside and out) and to report when interior deep clean/exterior clean is required.

Driving License Requirements

Must hold a D1/Full PSV Licence with no 101 restrictions and current CPC

Requirements - Experience:

DBS to enhanced level and be on the update service (Company responsible for all costs) Be able to conduct checks of the vehicles to ensure that they are compliant and safe to drive Be able to ensure that all occupants on our vehicle are securely strapped in position using seat belts and or other restraints including wheelchair clamps where necessary The ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing with work colleagues, members of the public, teaching staff and clients The ability to identify any physical, mental, or other health needs of our client whilst in transit Knowledge and understanding of any physical, mental, or other health needs of clients Able to demonstrate an understanding of effective customer care

As part of the Induction process all applicants will undergo a drug and alcohol test, in addition to an enhanced DBS check.
