We are recruiting for a fantastic opportunity in a welcoming mainstream primary school in Barnet. The role combines vital
1:1 support for a verbal and academically able Year 3 pupil with ASD
, along with general classroom responsibilities.
About the Role
This is a dual-role position where you will:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a bright and articulate Year 3 pupil with autism. She is thriving in a mainstream setting and working at the expected level. She requires help with social interactions and managing changes to routine, but has no behavioural concerns.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils across the class.
Break down tasks and provide tailored support for children who need help accessing the curriculum.
Work with a small number of pupils with additional needs, none of which are complex or severe.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:
Confident in supporting core subjects, particularly English and Maths.
Calm, reliable, and enthusiastic with a strong sense of initiative.
Able to build positive relationships and provide patient, consistent support.
Experienced or interested in working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism.
