Passive Fire Protection Engineer (Fire Stopping)

Various Construction Sites (UK) must be flexible to working away

Salary:

38,000 per year

- 20 days basic holiday and 8 bank holidays. One additional holiday day for each completed calendar year up to 25 days basic holiday allowance.

Role Purpose:

We are currently looking for experienced passive fire engineers/fire stoppers to join a rapidly growing compliance company, there will be progression opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Duties:

Install firestopping solutions around service penetrations in walls, ceilings, and floors (e.g., cable trays, ducts, pipes).

Apply intumescent sealants, fire collars, wraps, pillows, mortars, and barriers to required specifications. Read and interpret site drawings to identify firestopping requirements. Ensure installations comply with industry standards (ASFP, BRE, BS 476, and Approved Document B). Use handheld tools and equipment for on-site preparation and application. Record installation details using mobile reporting apps or hard copy logs. Communicate with site supervisors to resolve challenges and confirm specifications. Maintain a safe, tidy workspace and comply with health & safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience in firestopping or passive fire protection (minimum 1-2 years preferred).

NVQ Level 2 or above in Passive Fire Protection or willingness to work toward certification.

CSCS card (Skilled Worker or equivalent).

Awareness of fire safety legislation and construction site protocols.

Ability to follow technical instructions and product application guidelines.

Desirable Skills:

Great attention to detail and pride in high-quality work.

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team. Willingness to travel between project sites. Comfortable using mobile reporting tools (e.g., Bolster or similar platforms).
