We are seeking two committed and compassionate Pastoral and Learning Mentors to join our 14-16 Alternative Provision at Bishop Auckland College Group. These roles are pivotal in supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to learning and engagement in mainstream education.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will support learning in the classroom, including assisting with lesson delivery, encouraging engagement, and providing targeted academic support alongside pastoral and behavioural interventions. You will also work collaboratively with safeguarding teams, families, and external agencies to help learners re-engage with education, develop positive behaviours, and achieve their potential.
The successful candidate will hold a Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification or equivalent (or be willing to work towards this within one year) and have previous experience of working as a teaching assistant, including supporting learners within the classroom environment.
