to lead and coordinate pastoral care across our school community.

The Role


As

Pastoral Manager

, you will lead the school's pastoral systems, ensuring pupils' emotional, social, and behavioural needs are met within a trauma-informed and therapeutic environment. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENDCo, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and wider staff to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion across the school.


You will be a visible and consistent presence, championing students, staff, and the school's vision while modelling the

at all times.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Professional Conduct



Promote a positive, nurturing school culture with high expectations for behaviour and wellbeing Model professional integrity, respectful communication, and conduct in line with the Staff Code of Conduct Champion pupils, staff, and school achievements, fostering pride and a strong sense of purpose Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches across pastoral practice

Pastoral Care & Behaviour Support



Develop, implement, and monitor pastoral care programmes and targeted interventions Lead positive behaviour initiatives and support self-regulation strategies Monitor and support pupils with Behaviour Support Plans, Pastoral Support Plans, and EHCPs Address bullying, including cyberbullying and discriminatory behaviour, promptly and effectively Support pupils' resilience, motivation, and positive relationships

Safeguarding & Wellbeing



Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to safeguard all pupils Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are reported appropriately Promote mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the school Ensure compliance with Independent School Standards (Parts 3 and 5) and health & safety regulations

Staff, Family & Multi-Agency Working



Provide guidance and support to staff on behaviour management and pastoral practice Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team, SENDCo, and external professionals Be welcoming, professional, and supportive to parents, carers, and visitors Coordinate multi-agency support for pupils with complex needs

Teaching & Operational Support



Support pupils in lessons in a Teaching Assistant capacity when required Maintain accurate records of pastoral interventions, behaviour incidents, and outcomes Contribute to the development and review of school policies related to behaviour and wellbeing Support school events and initiatives that strengthen community engagement

About You

Passionate advocate for children and young people with SEND Minimum

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

At least

2 years' experience working in a SEND environment

Strong understanding of behaviour support, safeguarding, and pastoral care Confident, approachable, fair, and consistent in working with pupils Resilient, empathetic, and committed to promoting positive outcomes Able to work collaboratively and professionally across school teams

Contract & Benefits

Salary: 25,000-35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Term Time Only: 40 weeks per year (September-July), including 10 mandatory training days
