We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, particularly in baking and pastry preparation. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating a variety of delicious pastries, desserts, and baked goods that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety practices.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings.
Maintain an organised and clean kitchen workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on pastry techniques and food safety practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role within a restaurant or culinary environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to baking and pastry production.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
Creativity and passion for baking, with an eagerness to learn new techniques.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
