Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and baking, with a keen eye for detail and a creative flair for producing high-quality pastries and desserts. You will play a vital role in our kitchen, ensuring that all baked goods are prepared to perfection and presented beautifully.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts according to established recipes. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations. Assist in the creation of new dessert recipes and menu items, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to hygiene standards at all times. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Participate in training junior kitchen staff on pastry techniques and best practices.

Skills

Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role within a restaurant or kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficient in food preparation techniques, with the ability to bake various types of pastries and desserts. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in presentation and quality control. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. A passion for culinary arts, particularly in pastry production, with creativity in recipe development.
