Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our menu items are not only delicious but also visually appealing. You will work closely with the head chef and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the creation of new dessert items, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the menu. Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organised, and adhere to food safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition, reporting any issues to management promptly. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Support Front Of House with service where needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar establishment, with specific expertise in pastry preparation. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Excellent baking skills with an understanding of various pastry techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually learn and improve skills within the kitchen setting.
