Roots Catering is seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to creating high-quality pastries and desserts. This role requires creativity, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of desserts and pastries according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food production meets quality and presentation standards, with attention to detail being crucial Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely service. Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items with our kitchen team and our CEO/Exectuive Chef who was Michelin trained. Monitor ingredient and supply stock levels and place orders as needed. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and EHO standards and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Skills

Proven experience in food production and preparation within a professional kitchen setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on pastry/baking techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Previous restaurant/catering for events experience is highly desirable. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. A passion for creating innovative desserts that delight customers.
