We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) requiring early starts and weekend shifts at our remote facility, therefore a full UK driving license, or alternative means of getting here, is essential. Salary is above Real Living Wage and variable depending on experience. All overtime hours are paid.
As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for our core pastry production. This role encompasses bakery mise en place but will also include other duties to support the Head Baker and Line Cook.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years' experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
An ability to work well in a small, energetic team
A good level of fitness and an ability to handle flour bags (16-25kg)
A solid work ethic

Responsibilities
Measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients accurately
Pastry preparations including doughs, laminations and fillings including preparations of whole fruits, savoury fillings, creams, custards, flavoured oils and spreads (list not exhaustive)
Maintaining sourdough starters
Baking pastry using a roll-in, rotary oven; cooking of other foods and preparations using ovens and induction hobs
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, strictly adhering to food safety protocols
Ensure all baked products meet quality standards before serving or selling
Monitoring stock levels, ensuring proper storage of all bakery ingredients and consumables;
Communicating with management about stock levels for timely ordering of ingredients and consumables
Customer service duties in our retail shop in Hillsborough if/when required (Friday & Saturday only)

Pay: 27,040.00-35,360.00 per year
